Kung fu empowers, and with this power comes responsibility. Silent River Kung Fu’s Pandamonium project is an important aspect of our intelligent curriculum that teaches empathy through raising awareness of social issues and how they affect everyone, no matter how isolated they may be.
Once a year, Silent River Kung Fu students voluntarily obtain sponsorship and raise money for charity by taking part in a 24 hour endurance sweat-fest known as the Pandamonium. All funds raised through this project are forwarded to the Silent River Benevolent Foundation, a non-profit organization for charitable purposes registered in the province of Alberta, and go towards supporting local and global initiatives.
Beyond the money, the Pandamonium has generated awareness and support for Kidsport Parkland, Hervey Foundation for Cats, The Simon Poultney Foundation, Healing Hands of Katmandu, The Children’s Ability Fund, Atsikana Pa Ulendo (Malawi Girls on the Move), SCARS - Second Chance Animal Rescue Society, the Northern Lights Wolf Centre, and HERO - Hale Empowerment and Revitalization Organization.
