Kinsmen Christmas Hamper
We are once again inviting Silent River Kung Fu students to join the I Ho Chuan (IHC) team in helping with the Kinsmen Christmas Hamper fundraiser at the Red Apple in Stony Plain. This is our third year supporting this event and last year the Kinsmen helped over 700 families—more than 2,000 people right here in our community. Our participation makes a real difference, and it reflects the spirit of giving that is so important to us. This years event will take place on December 5, 6 and 7 at the Red Apple located in Meridian Village Mall, 4401 - 48 Street in Stony Plain.
During the event, we’ll be collecting toys, cash or tap donations, and gift cards for local families. It’s a simple but powerful way to give back, and it’s a chance to live the values we train in every day. Please use the link below to volunteer with an IHC team member and get to know them better. If you have any issues with the link, you an also sign up by reaching out to Sihing Jackie Kohut.
Kinsmen Christmas Hamper Signup
Please note that this event is open to students in our Young Dragons and Teen/Adult programs. Anyone under 12 will need to have a parent present for the duration.
Thank you in advance for your support and wishing you and yours a happy and safe holiday season.

SRKF Break-A-Thon 2025
COVID-19 has changed us over these past two years. How we communicate, how we work together as a community — it has all changed. It is important to remember that with all the challenges created by COVID-19, there are still the same chronic, ongoing issues plaguing our most vulnerable that have been intensified and complicated by the pandemic.
Kung Fu is much more than just kicking and punching, it has to be. Training in Kung Fu is empowering and what we do with that empowerment is a very important responsibility. Silent River Kung Fu’s Intelligent Curriculum includes several projects that promote compassion and emotional intelligence, empowering us to literally be the change we want to see in the world. Our Break-A-Thon is one such project.
If each student is able to raise $100 by breaking 10 boards in this year’s Break-A-Thon, our non-profit association, the Silent River Benevolent Foundation, will be able to continue to support important charities and initiatives with the funds we raise.
If you have any questions, please ask your Sifu or post them on this thread so everyone can benefit from your query. You can download your own copy of our pledge sheet from Kwoon Talk's Downloads.
Thank you in advance for your active engagement in this project.
