Every year Earth Day takes place on April 22.
Earth Day is an international day devoted to our planet. Each year, approximately 1 billion people across 190 countries take action in raising awareness and bringing about change to protect the environment.
In recognition of this important day, Silent River Kung Fu will be participating in the Stony Plain “Pitch In” Week, for which we will be organizing a group to clean up Stony Plain’s Rotary Park on Saturday, April 26 from 10:30-12:30pm. We will be meeting in the parking lot of Rotary Park at 10:20 am; bags and gloves will be provided.
In order to best prepare, we ask that you to rsvp via our Facebook Event link below. All ages are welcome, but we do ask that parents remain present with children, as we will not be able to provide supervision.
This event is a perfect example of taking your Kung Fu out of the Kwoon and into the world, and as such, directly aligns with our Green Stripe curriculum, Wude. So not only is this an amazing opportunity to help the earth, but it is also an opportunity to earn your green stripe.
